: Usually I would prefer workshop because practicum is so esoteric; but the ST says practicum, and the program may have been more intensive than a workshop

: Forty years of speaking English and two academic degrees later, I can't recall ever seeing this word, practicum, actually used in English. Otherwise, I am with you. Methink, it doesn't matter what this or that dictionary says. Established usage matters.
