I'm inclined to think that this is a typo, that the intended word was 'этим', but I wanted to confirm with someone.

Соболевский, Лекции 150 и сл., толкование которого – э̀нтот из выражений типа на э на том месте – не объясняет дейктическую разницу между э̀втот и э̀нтот; ср. Зубатый, LF 36, 341; Бернекер I, 259. По мнению Зубатого (там же), *еnо- нужно связывать с он. Однако допустимо было бы также происхождение -nо из *nъ-, ср. ст.-слав. небо γάρ наряду с небонъ καί γάρ (Супр.). См. также э.
