25 метров на устройство одного метра? лесов россии не хватит. ;) |
посмотрел ссылку... надо будет уточнить в оригинале, тк 25 метров накатника на 1 метр щели это ... эгипетские пирамиды. |
и спасибо за ссылку |

25 m in total
I'd say it this way, though "пог. м" means "running meter"

As for myself, "linear meter" and "running meter" are synonyms for "погонный метр", but first one is more suitable for pieces of timber (for example, for logs) but second one - for overal (total) length

: any references for use of running meters to measure lumber please. PS I am asking for either American or British English sources/register. Russian English does not count at all.

You welcome, sir. There are plenty of such references. Here is one exactly for logs: cherles.com/eng/activitys/timbers/
Each machine produces up to 250 running meters of logs with diameter 18 and 22 cm and length 3 m. /// Please serve yorself.

Linear Meter?
Answer
In engineering, linear metre is a metre in which the deflection of the pointer is proportional to the quantity measured. Linear describes measurement of a one-dimensional line and not an area in square metres or a volume in cubic metres.
(Written by Einstein while smoking the good stuff)
Here, the ? is in "meter" and the answer is in "metre," which is understandable between continental spellings. This has always been stupid to me, who is stupid to begin with, but "linear," lineal," "running" meter/metre is a meter. If I want "square" or "cubic" meter I say so; I don't want somebody running through, e.g., the lumber yard with a tape measure counting off those 6-7 штук--that sounds gross, yuk!
