Spider angiomas
...a vascular lesion formed by the dilation of a group of small blood vessels
1 day 15 hrs
telangiectasias
small dilated blood vessels

Note added at 1 day15 hrs (2009-12-21 06:24:25 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Facial telangiectasias are very fine, superficial veins that have become permanently dilated and visible.

Note added at 1 day17 hrs (2009-12-21 08:36:29 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Spider veins can be classified based on size:
telangiectasias < 1 mm (fine, red); venulectasias < 2 mm (larger, bluish); reticular veins 2 to 4 mm; and larger varicose veins (require treatment that is medically necessary). Therefore, I suggested a bit more specific term.
