I'm not blog savvy-- are these called "message tickers" in English? I haven't been able to find evidence that LiveJournal was putting ads in message tickers, but rather, in between blog entries. Anyone familiar with the controversy at LiveJournal who knows where these ads were placed?

agree Rachel Douglas : Except just "feeds" or "LiveJournal feeds:, because they're not necessarily news. P.S. I don't know where the ads are placed, whether in an RSS feed or in the blog itself. If the latter, I don't think that's called a feed.

Thank you! Your variant, RSS feed, is a very good alternative!
