Discussion
Not sure "JD" is the appropriate term here. Firstly, JD is a degree that is obtained in a common law jurisdiction. Russian law is based on a civil-law tradition (Romanic-German system). In Russia "диплом по специальности "Юриспруденция"" implies that a person has studied law for 5 years full-time (6 years part-time) and is not exactly an equivalent of JD or LLB (it will also require selecting a specialised area of study, like civil law or civil procedure, criminal law, etc. at year 4 - it means that e.g. civil procedure is studied again in more detail by students who select such area).
