Spanish term

fuera de línea

I think out of tolerance could be right! Thanks for your help!!
Esther Hermida Apr 23, 2011:
Neil Ashby Apr 23, 2011:
Esther what do you mean by computacion? As in computers (ordenadores in Spain)?? I don't think this has anything to do with computers. Although 'off-line' may refer to the factory line i.e. not in production at the moment. Difficult to say without more context.

Read this. It might be helpful and you may find links that lead to an answer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HACCP
Esther Hermida Apr 23, 2011:

Exceeding tolerance limits for the process.

agree Neil Ashby : I give this a half thumbs up because its difficult to say without more context, above/exceeding tolerance is a used term in pharmaceuticals

Off-line

Peer comment(s):

agree Neil Ashby : I half agree because without more context it's difficult. I think this may be right if refering to the 'production line' - whether or not a drug/product is being made at the moment. But I don't believe it has anything to do with computers in this context.

agree David Brown : In the context of critical point analysis "off-line" is used. It means taking samples out of the production line at critical points and measuring to see if they meet specifications as opposed to "on-line" measurements (mostly visual, broken, misshaped etc
