Äkillinen ja ennalta−arvaamaton
Vahinkotapahtumalla tarkoitetaan tapahtumaa, jonka toteutuminen ja ajankohta on vakuutuk−
senottajalle äkillinen ja ennalta−arvaamaton.
Yleisiä rajoituksia
Vakuutusturva ei korvaa vahinkoa, jonka syntymiseen on välittömästi vaikuttanut
− ydinase, ydinvahinko tai muu siihen rinnastettava tapahtuma
− sota tai sotatoimen tapaiset olosuhteet, (ehtokohtaa on täsmennetty sairaus−, tapaturma−
ja matkavakuuttamisaluekohtaisissa ehdoissa)
− lakko tai työnseisaus
− terroriteko (ei koske sairaus−, tapaturma− ja matkavakuutuksia)
−Vakuutusturva korvaa kuitenkin yhteensä enintään miljoonaan euroon saakka yhden va−
kuutuskauden aikana samalle vakuutuksenottajalle Suomessa tapahtuneet terroriteon ai−
heuttamat vastuuvahingot.
−Lisäksi vakuutusturva korvaa Suomessa, Norjassa, Ruotsissa, Tanskassa, Virossa, Latvi−
assa tai Liettuassa tapahtuneen omaisuus− tai keskeytysvahingon, jonka syynä tai laajuu−
teen suoraan tai välillisesti vaikuttavana tekijänä on terroriteko (terrorivahinko) mainitussa
maassa. Enimmäiskorvausmäärä kaikkien If Vahinkovakuutusyhtiön (ml. em. maiden If−yh−
tiöiden) vakuutuksenottajien ja vakuutettujen kesken on 50.000.000euroa. Siinä tapaukses−
sa, että vakuutusyhtiöllä on aihetta olettaa, että vakuutettujen etuuksien yhteenlaskettu va−
hinkomäärä ylittää 50.000.000euroa, korvaus maksetaan sen jälkeen, kun vakuutusyhtiö on
lopullisesti arvioinut yhteenlasketun vahinkomäärän. Vakuutusyhtiön on tehtävä arvio kol−
men kuukauden kuluessa vahinkotapahtumasta. Jos yhteenlaskettu vahinkomäärä ylittää
50.000.000euroa korvataan kullekin vakuutuksenottajalle ja vakuutetulle vahingosta se osa,
joka vastaa 50.000.000euron suhdetta yhteenlaskettuun vahinkomäärään.
−Terrorivahinkoon perustuva korvausvaatimus on esitettävä vakuutusyhtiölle kolmen kuu−
kauden kuluessa vahinkotapahtumasta. Jos korvausvaatimus esitetään myöhemmin, vaa−
timusta ei oteta huomioon yhteenlasketussa vahinkomäärässä eikä vahinkoa korvata.
−Yhteenlaskettua vahinkomäärää arvioitaessa sisällytetään vahingon määrään kaikki va−
hingot, jotka johtuvat samasta terroriteosta ja aiheutuvat 48 tunnin kuluessa terroriteosta.
−Omaisuudeksi ei lasketa moottoriajoneuvoja, eikä kuljetusvakuutuksella vakuutettua
omaisuutta.
Vahinkoa ei korvata silloin,
− kun vahinko aiheutuu virheellisesti suunnitellulle, rakennetulle tai asennetulle omaisuudel−
le tai esineelle
− kun vahinko aiheutuu valmistus− tai aineviasta
− kun joku muu takuun tai muun sopimuksen perusteella vastuullinen osapuoli korvaa va−
hingon
Translation - English 9.EVENT OF ACCIDENT
sudden and unforeseen
Event of accident means an event that has been both sudden and unforeseen to the insurance holder.
general restrictions
The insurance policy does not cover accidents caused by:
-nuclear weapon, nuclear damage or other similiar event.
-war or warlike circumstances. (further explained in sickness, accident and travel insurance area terms)
-strike or walkout.
-act of terrorism (does not apply to sickness, accident or travel insurance)
The insurance policy does however cover, up to one million euros, damages caused by acts of terrorism that have occurred in Finland to the insurance holder, during one insurance period.
-In addition, the policy also covers property or interruption damage in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, that are directly or indirectly caused by acts of terrorism in the above countries.
The maximum compensation amount between all If-insurance companies (including branches in above mentioned countries), the insurance holders and insured parties, is 50.000.000 euros. In the case of the insurance company having reason to assume that the overall compensation will exceed 50.000.000 euros, the compensation will be paid after the insurance company has finalized its assessment of the combined amount of damages. The insurance company must present an estimate within 3 months of the incident. If the combined damage exceeds 50.000.000 euros, each insurance holder and insured party will be compensated for the ratio of 50.000.000 that corresponds to the amount of total damages.
-a demand for compensation for a terrorist incident must be presented to the insurance company within 3 months of the incident. If the demand is presented after the 3 month deadline, the compensation will not be paid.
-when assessing the combined amount of damage, the assessment will include all damages caused by the same act of terrorism that have occurred within 48 hours of the act.
-motor vehicles or property insured by transportation insurance, will not be counted as property.
Damages will not be compensated when:
-damage is caused by incorrectly designed, built, or installed property or item.
-damage is caused by manufacture or material flaw.
-another party, by warranty or other means compensates for the damage.
