We have had another successful, fast-paced and enjoyable summer season here in Fort Lauderdale. Occupancy has remained strong at BeachPlace Towers as the city enjoyed wonderful weather and many, many “beach days.”
Inside the property, frequent guests have returned to see many of our familiar staff faces. Recently we experienced a change that soon will bring a new member to our Leadership Team. Our wonderful Director of Customer Experience, Jane Doe accepted the opportunity to become the Director of the Harbor Beach Spa, just down the beach from BeachPlace Towers. We hope that many of you will make the trip to the Harbor Beach to visit with her and enjoy the Spa.
Outside, our neighbor to the north, Hotel X is taking shape quickly as one of the newest high-rise commercial buildings along A1A. By the time you read this, the building will have been under construction for a year. They are halfway through the construction phase, and anticipate opening for business during the last quarter of 2005.
Needless to say, we have been busy dusting more frequently than ever and will continue to do so. At the same time, we are quietly anxious to see so much of the local oceanfront literally changing before our eyes during the past 12 months.
As you all watched the numerous hurricanes approach Fort Lauderdale, only to swerve away within hours from our location, many of you called to learn how your building fared. I’m very pleased to inform you that the building handled the Category 2 and 3 force winds with virtually no damage. In fact the entire City of Fort Lauderdale was lucky. While there were hundreds of downed trees and power lines, the area quickly regained its footing, cleared away debris and returned to the activities and liveliness of a busy, coastline city. We thank you for your continued support, care and concern as we strive to make each guest’s visit to BeachPlace Towers a wonderful and memorable experience.
