1945 really represents the final throes of World War II.
In Europe, you might remember, at the end of 1944, we have the Battle of the Bulge starting, which is an incredibly bloody battle.
The U.S. forces, which kind of take the brunt on the Allied side, lose roughly 20,000 troops, but by January, they're able to break through and invade Germany.
So as you go into early 1945, the Allies are on their march through Western Germany.
Now if you go on the east, the Russians or the Soviets are also marching westward.
By January of 1945, they're able to take Warsaw, and from there, they continue to march westward towards Berlin.
Now the writing is on the wall at this point.

1945년은 제2차 세계대전의 마지막 참상을 보여줍니다.
알지 모르겠지만, 1994년 말 유럽에서는 벌지전투가 시작되었죠. 그 전투는 믿기 힘들 정도의 유혈이 낭자한 전투였어요.

재료: 가지 1개(150g), 물(끓여 식힌 물) 2컵(400ml), 소금(꽃소금) 1/2작은술(2g), 설탕 1과 1/2큰술(15g), 식초 1큰술(15ml), 청양고추 1/2개(5g), 고추(홍고추) 1/2개(5g), 가지 양념(마늘(다진 마늘) 1작은술(3g), 대파(다진 대파) 1작은술(3g), 간장(재래간장) 1큰술(15ml), 참기름 1작은술(5ml), 깨 1작은술(2g))
01. 가지는 깨끗이 씻은 후 꼭지 부분을 썰어내고 길게 2등분 한 후 반으로 썬다. 김이 오른 찜기에 넣고 4~5분간 가지가 부드러워질 때까지 찐다.
02. 가지는 한 김 식힌 후 손으로 먹기 좋은 크기로 찢는다. 청양고추와 홍고추는 송송 썬다.
03. 볼에 가지와 가지 양념 재료를 넣고 조물조물 무친다. (기호에 따라 소금과 재래간장의 양은 조절한다.)
04. 볼에 물, 소금, 설탕, 식초를 넣어 냉국물을 만들어 냉장실에서 차게 한다. 가지무침에 냉국 물을 붓고 청양고추와 홍고추를 올린다. (얼음을 띄우면 더 시원하게 즐길 수 있다.)
Translation - English How to Make Cold Eggplant Soup
Ingredients: 1 Eggplant(150g), 2 cup water(boiled and cooled water, 400ml), 1/2 teaspoon salt(2g), 1 and 1/2 tablespoon sugar(15g), 1 tablespoon vinegar(15ml), 1/2 hot pepper(5g), 1/2 red pepper(5g), sauce (1 teaspoon crushed garlic(3g), 1 teaspoon crushed green onion(3g), 1 tablespoon soy sauce(15ml), 1 teaspoon sesame oil(5ml), 1 teaspoon sesame(2g))
01. Wash eggplant, and remove the cap, then slice into half vertically and cut each piece into two. Steam eggplants for 4~5 minutes until it gets softened.
02. Cool down the eggplants, and tear them apart into serving pieces. Chop hot pepper and red pepper.
03. Mix eggplants and the sauce in the bowl. Add salt and soy sauce to taste.
04. Mix water, salt, sugar and vinegar in the bowl, and chill in the refrigerator. Pour the soup into the bowl with eggplants, and put hot pepper and red pepper on the top. Add ice if preferred.

papers from English to Korean.
