Numéro d'engagement

This appears without any other context in a Spanish e-commerce software suite.

Snap Suzie! Numéro d'enregistrement? I don't think so, but it could very well be a 'commitment number', which relates to a legal commitment.

A number of sources translate this as "commitment number", although this doesn't mean much to my British ears. It sounds a bit like a purchase order number, but this seems to be in addition to that.

This Canadian page exists in French and English and uses "commitment number" where the French uses "numéro d'engagement"

Basically I really just need to know if it is synonymous with "numéro d'enregistrement", and if not, what the difference is.
