Most PTC thermistors are made from doped polycrystalline ceramic (containing barium titanate (BaTiO3) and other compounds) which have the property that their resistance rises suddenly at a certain critical temperature.

: Oui. L'utilisation d'une thermistance CTP est très recommandée dans le cas du pilotage des moteurs avec des variateurs de vitesse afin de protéger le moteur des surchauffes qui peuvent se produire à vitesse réduite.

: 'complies with' is another, albeit rare possibility, if 'PTC' is indeed something that can be 'complied with'; but I'm a little curious as to where the 'plated' comes in — unless it is some kind of 'approval plate'
