Hi all, this is on a medical report for a pulmonary adenocarcinoma patient who passed away in the hospital. Here's the context, this is under "EXPLORACIONES COMPLEMENTARIAS":
- Analítica control: crea 0.44, ionograma conservado, CK 283, FA 129, PCR 2, TnT 16, Hb 9.3, N 5290, PQ 191000, TP 80%, D-dímero 7350
- Gasometría basal: pH 7.403, pCO2 48.7, bicarbonato 29.7, BE 4.9, calcio iónico 1.05.
La GSA probablemente se trate de una GV.
- PCR SARS-CoV2: no se detecta.
By the context I understand that GSA may be "gasometría arterial", but the GV has me stumped. Thanks in advance for your help!

I read it as although GSA is recorded, they believe a GV was more likely to have been performed. The wording is odd, maybe I'm on the wrong track, see what others come up with.

| Hi Marie, thanks for your answer. I also thought of this but could you tell me how one is "probably" the other if they seem to be mutually exclusive? I always thought that it's either/or, and it just doesn't seem right to me to say that "the ABG is probably a VBG". Your help is much appreciated! |

: I think the lab should have received arterial blood, but based on the values they feel that it was probably venous blood instead.
