"Fifth-range" appears a couple of times on SPANISH websites
Does it have any translation?

Discussion

neilmac Mar 9:
Quickchef The firm appears to be Spanish and likely used MT to produce the website text. In my experience,"5th range" is mainly understood by industry insiders, whereas "ready to eat" is self-explanatory for consumers.
ormiston Mar 8:
The Quickchef website itself defines it thus: Fifth Range Solutions. Home cooking recipes that incorporate the latest gastronomic technology.

Many thanks Liz! ;-)
agree philgoddard : Yes, I think that's a good approximation. I hope the restaurants aren't pretending they prepared it themselves..

pre-cooked and pre-prepared packaged dishes

That's what they say "precocinados o semielaborados que se presentan envasados y están a punto para ser consumidos " 5th range or similar does not appear in english searches except on Spanish webs
Note from asker:
Yes, though I think there's a "premium" dimension to it
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : It's not quite this simple, as my reference shows.

3ª gama: productos congelados (verdura, pescado o marisco).

En esta página lo presentan como "range":

https://packmedia.net/node/6801

4th and 5th range products include all fresh fruit and vegetables that are “barely treated” in order to guarantee safety, hygiene and quality through the application of good practices.
These ready-to-use products are washed, dried and packed in a sealed bag or container (sometimes using modified atmosphere). They can be consumed raw or cooked, depending on the product, without the consumer needing to make any additional preparation. Both 4th and 5th range goods fall under the category “fresh” in that the shelf life of these products does not exceed 7 days.

You could say 'fifth-generation', and you might need to add a sentence of explanation.
Note from asker:
Thanks. Saw that, and it clarifies what they want to say, but ... is there any term in English, or is the concept uniquely Spanish? Any way to say it without an awkward circumlocution? Premium pre-cooked products? That's my best stab at it
