Mosaico significa che non tutte le cellule dell'organismo (ma in questo caso si parla solo dei fibroblasti cutanei) sono portatrici della trisomia, ma che questa è presente nel 16% dei fibroblasti, dando il caratteristico aspetto "a mosaico" (vedi figura del tuo lavoro).
