In an American movie of 1976, the characters talk about a "gun hand". I would like to know if I can translate this term as "pistola" into Brazilian Portuguese, or if there´s a better option. The synopsis: "Romantic drama following the fortunes of a drifter who wins a young orphan in a poker game and takes her gold prospecting in the Grand Canyon."
Thanks in advance.

Pistoleiro
Pistola is the arm itself. Pistoleiro can be a hitman, a hired killer a gunner or a gunman. In Italian pistolero. In Spanish pistolero is holster, gun pouch etc. (A case of false frields between Portuguese and Spanish!)

: Atirador is a marksman, rifleman and sharpshooter. Unlikey in the Wild West.

ready." "Strap your gun hand." Minha dúvida era se o termo pode ser usado para filmes de faroeste de 1976. De qualquer forma, obrigada.
