For better understanding of the bandslicing principle
If you have a look at the next page you will see how a bandslicer operates. Quite different from the way most users are accustomed to with reciprocating slicers. The main difference is the fact that a bandslicer uses endless, rotating ***slicerbands*** whereas a conventional slicer has short straight blades making a sawing movement up and down. For a better understanding we quote below a few features that might be new to you.

With a brand new machine (or when you install new ***slicerbands) it is important to apply oil to the ***slicerbands and to the ***slicerband guides. Never run new ***slicerbands dry because they may break. See also 1.3. "oiling device".
