@All Thanks for contributions, i'll give Mark the points when the 24 hours is up, but in meantime, off to bed!!

Incidentologically What a great word! I am sure it could be the basis of a new philosophical movement - incidentologicalism.
Bashiqa (asker) Jun 8, 2011:
@cc Pity they can't invent something useful from time to time, instead of words that don't exist. I have a mammoth glossary but of course it doesn't contain anything like the words you search for. Ho hum, time for a cup of cha!
polyglot45 Jun 8, 2011:
this is a calque on "accidentologie" Etude des accidents occasionnés par des véhicules automobiles, tant du point de vue de leurs causes que de leurs effets.

Accident rates or accident profiles - you can do the same with "incidents"
chris collister Jun 8, 2011:
Incidentologically speaking, the French seem to have fewer qualms about inventing words and neologisms. I think you'll just have to work around it!

agree Didier Fourcot : Or case reporting, the standard translation of "incident" is often case, we do also have case management for "gestion d'incident"
