: I would actually guess it was the other way round, i.e. that this word was imported into English or coined by non-native speakers. The original developer of Drupal is Dutch

Unfortunately, depublication (which would seem to be the obvious choice) isn't actually an English word. Although, it is used by the California court system!

: this would correspond to "supprimer"/"suppression", whereas "dépublication" only implies a change of status: the resource remains present, but just not publicly displayed // indeed so :) - it is "removed" from view; but the difference is fundamental
