Discussion

David Williams (asker) Jun 15, 2010:
One German manufacturer calls them as "lift- and rotating devices":

http://www.hywema.de/en/7-Lift-und-rotating-devices/technica...

But the English on their website doesn't instill any confidence in it being a reliable reference when it comes to terminology.
David Williams (asker) Jun 15, 2010:
A drawing of Dreh- Hubgestelle that look like pistons of some kind suggests to me that they are jacks.
David Williams (asker) Jun 14, 2010:
I'm thinking along the lines of "lifting jack" or "lifting and rotating jig".

lifting and rotating units

If I read you right, then it's the 'Gestell' part that you're inviting ideas for ?

"Units" is a fairly generic term that should work in the context, I think.
