German term

absichern

German to English Tech/Engineering Automation & Robotics
Context:

"Eine automatische Generierung von Anweisungen für Arbeitsabläufe könnte Service-Aufgaben signifikant erleichtern und zudem besser absichern."

I'm not sure how absichern is meant here. Might it mean that "automatic generation of workflow instructions could make servicing significantly easier as well as more reliable"?

protect is something else that falls in mind.
Uta Kappler Jul 6, 2011:
I understand this as meaning "providing additional security for the service personnel", since they will always have access to the most up-to-date documents which are automatically generated. So yes, this makes the documentation "more reliable" or safer to use.
Michael Harris Jul 6, 2011:
record them / back them up
