Translation regarding cochlear implants.
The original line says: "Wenn der Schall als Wasserwelle durch die Schnecke wandert, wird die Basilarmembran selektiv in Schwingungen versetzt." And I am definitely not happy with the end of the sentence of my translation (omitted here) "As soon as sound passes through the cochlea like a water wave the basilar membrane ... wird die Basilarmembran selektiv in Schwingungen versetzt." What is the correct translation of 'selektiv in Schwingungen versetzen' in this regard?
What is furthermore the accurate translation of "Es findet also eine Tonhöhenzuordnung bzw. eine Frequenzanalyse statt." Regarding this, I found a lot of tecnical terms not being related to anatomy.
