German term

Antioxidans zu Vitamin A

German to English Medical Cosmetics, Beauty
From an e-learning course for skin care sales. The course tests sales representatives' knowledge of the company's skin care products.

There is a glossary at the end of each unit to explain the benefits of ingredients in the products.

This appears under the description for Vitamin E.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant - but does it have some special relationship with Vitamin A?
The client has not responded to the queries I have sent (via the agency) about this text.

VITAMIN E (Tocopheryl Acetat)
*****- Antioxidans zu Vitamin A *****
- Schutz vor freien Radikalen
- Regeneration der Hautbarriere
- Stimulation hauteigener Repair-Mechanismen

Thanks for your help!

Nor me. The glossary appears at the end of each unit of the course. In one unit, it also says that vitamin E prolongs the effects of vitamin A. I didn't want to post that straight away in case I had ten people telling me to just use that information. The fact is that every other time (i.e. in a further 11 units) it just says "Antioxidans zu Vitamin A".

I thought maybe you had to pick out the false statement. It doesn't make sense to me.
Davina Hepworth (asker) Oct 20, 2016:
Hi Phil - yes, it is definitely part of the glossary. I sent some queries a couple of days ago, but there has been no response from the client.

Is it definitely part of a glossary and not a multiple choice question?

From antioxidants to Vitamin A

You said this shows up in 11 more units so it's not just about Vitamin E? Looks like they're using this line as a consistent theme illustrating the (extended) benefits of Vitamin E and other ingredients and how they fit into the larger picture of 'foods for good skin.'

"And from antioxidants to Vitamin A, Omega 9 and more, foods for good skin have never been more abundant than they are right now."

Note from asker:
I meant that the glossary entry appears at the end of each unit, of which there are 11. The glossary entry at the end if the first unit includes the extra line about Vitamin E prolonging the effects of Vitamin A. So each time it appears as an exact repetition.

hmm, not that I care for points...
Note from asker:
Thanks! I asked a pharmacist and a chemist about this, and they both said that this sounds right. I.e. vitamin E is an antioxidant and it prevents oxidation of vitamin A.
