Still at my mattress brochure. I'm looking for something pithy here which might even include the idea of sleep.

My idea so far: you're laying on the right side - which obviously doesn't work.
The entire paragraph
High comfort, a touch of luxury, and an incomparable sleeping experience: That is how you crown a beautiful, successful, and perhaps strenuous day. The world of XXX can provide this and more, tailored to your personal needs. (With XXX, you have the optimum: previous translation) With XX you're sleeping on the right side.

(You're sleeping with the right partner :-)!)

Hi Phil, Hi Helen I don't argue the meaning, I argue the preposition. Where I come from, we say get UP on the wrong side of the bed, that's all, nothing earth-shaking. And yes, I always (at least I think I do, would have to check on that one) bow to the majority in the case of kudoz questions, that's what it's here for, to lead us to the best solution. The project is ready to deliver - thank you!

Good Morning! @Helen - this is a classic AE/BE nuance. In AE you get up on the right/wrong side of the bed, it's a common idiom. But you're right, it's not strong enough.

When you are grumpy, it is because you got up on (from) the wrong side of the bed. This text suggests that, with this mattress, you always get up happy. It's not "your" side that is in question, but the right or left side of the bed, either of which can be the right or the wrong side. Partners not in question either. Why am I rehearsing the obvious?

Get out You always get out of bed on the right side - get up on the right side sounds rather ambiguous to me, and not in a good way!

@David Yes, you're right, I've changed it to "deep comfort", which, at the moment, I'm not sure isn't the same in blue. Sometimes proofing can be very challenging.

@Phil Yes, I kinda like it myself. Michael's is closer to the ST, though. I'll decide tomorrow.

@ writeaway "High comfort" is an expression I have encountered in so many, many texts I have proofread, I had almost begun to think it must be correct - although I have always corrected it myself. Now I know I was right, and I thank you, as an acknowledged expert, for confirming my view.

I would be useless in advertising ... Maybe: you've picked the right partner / you've made the right choice - "As you make your bed, so you must lie in it." sounds a bit threatening. "Sleep the sleep of the just" comes to my mind but admittedly not in connection with a mattress. ;-)

How about this - "on the XXX, you're in the best..."?

But why "high"comfort - is it the elevation, or what? A "high LEVEL of comfort" or "great comfort" I can understand, but... Or is it another of those weird Americanisms?

neutral writeaway : high comfort is just a literal translation of the German. Not an "Americanism" at all. Just Gerglish. Looking down one's nose at the English of an entire continent is taking things a bit far in any case, imo
