Yes, XYZ is a person, employed as an 'angestellter ingenieur' at YYY. Dabei ...
So I understand that XYZ obviously is a person (which wasn't clear from you initial posting - hence my asking for additional context). I suspect a typo or transcription error for "eingesetzt".
That's all the relevant context I have.
