Weiterhin wird die sogenannte Doppelhaploiden-Technologie (DH-Technologie) zur Regenerierung von reinerbigen Pflanzen aus Zellkulturen wie unbefruchteten Eizellen oder unreifen Pollenkörnern (Mikrosporen) angewendet. Die Aufspaltung dieser die Samenschalenfarbe und die Blattbehaarung steuernden Gene unterscheidet sich bei den Doppelthaploiden nicht signifikant von einer nach Zufallsgesetzen erwarteten Spaltung, woraus abzuleiten ist, dass bei B. juncea Doppelthaploide fuer genetische Untersuchungen durchaus geeignet sind und wahrscheinlich auch fuer die Entwicklung neuer Sorten verwendet werden koennen.
