Discussion

KathyG (X) Oct 14, 2011:
Interesting article, but yuk as to the contents - this and the experimenting on animals are why I refuse medical translations!
KathyG (X) Oct 14, 2011:
HI Joanna Claudia Popa, Thank you for the comment - I think zwetschge is right, too.
KathyG (X) Oct 14, 2011:
But I think Hazel Underwood is pulling my leg - Leichenwagen = Hearse?
KathyG (X) Oct 14, 2011:
By jove, I think zwetschege is right - post-mortem - very interesting article, thanks
Ioana Claudia Popa Oct 14, 2011:
@ Kathy No, I don't think so, because then the "n" should be capitalized. I think zwetschge is right, the small "n" should stand for a preposition, exactly like the "i" of im Auftrag. And "nach Leichenschau" makes sense, because there is no burial without the coroner's examination for the death certificate.
KathyG (X) Oct 14, 2011:
Could N.L. stand for Niederlassung - branch office?
An idea - thanks for an answer
Hazel Underwood Oct 14, 2011:
Could n be m? It could then be "in Auftrag der Polizei mit Leichenwagen" perhaps.
Ioana Claudia Popa Oct 14, 2011:
Only a hunch I.A.d.P. could mean "im Auftrag der Polizei". N.L. could have something to do with the location of the accident/police district, did this have anything to do with the Netherlands? Probably not, in that case there wouldn't be a dot between the "n" and the "L", they stand for two words...
