German term

(Ausricht)kraftschwelle

German to English Tech/Engineering Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright
This is from a patent for a figure in a football (soccer) game, describing how the Schussbein is activated: the "Glieder des Schussbeins" are the upper thigh, lower leg and foot sections:

"...Die bewegbare Verbindung der Glieder des Schussbeines ist derart ausgebildet, dass die Ausrichtung der Glieder zueinander und gegenüber der Figur durch eine Kraft einstellbar ist, die über einer bestimmten Ausrichtkraftschwelle liegt"

I've assumed "Ausrichtung" is "alignment", but I can't quite visualise what an "alignment force threshold" might be!
TIA!

(alignment) force threshold

I'm not sure about 'alighment' in here (it sounds more like orientation in this context), but maybe this is simply describing a property instead of an intentional feature - namely that the force has to exceed a certain threshold to be effective (such as the force necessary to overcome static friction).
Something went wrong...
4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Kenneth - I think you're right about "orientation", that's the term I used earlier in the patent for "Ausrichtung". I used "force threshold" in the end. "
