German term

Anguss-Anlaufverlust

German to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
In a table of costing for an injection moulding component, includes details on the weight, paint used, granulate and the above term under the heading of Material. Is it something like initial loss from the sprue?

Thanks!

This is what BMW calls it in the US. It has to do with "first-part" approval of an injection molded part, once the injection molding machine is running at idle.

'Initial loss' seem somewhat unlikely. In any case, the Anguß is the gate, not the sprue, so maybe Anguß-Anlauf means the sprue, but I cannot find any support for this idea from a Google search or any dictionary. It could mean 'sprue waste' or 'sprue wastage', but it could also mean something like 'startup gate waste( of wastage)'.
