flowing-off
Routledge German Dictionary of Biology suggests that Ablauf corresponds to Abfluss which again is translated as flowing-off, run-off, surface run-off, effluence, drainage.
A few online dictionaries also give flowing-off for Ablauf.
This test is pretty certainly carried out by either pouring the liquid out of the container to see how it flows or runs off and if it's really homogeneous or letting it run off a flat surface, e.g. a glass plate.
