Doch die genauen Ansprüche an ein optisches Trübungsmessgerät hängen vom gewünschten Messbereich ab. So ist die Messung diffus gestreuter Strahlung typisch für Trübungsmessungen im niedrigen Bereich, zum Beispiel bei Trinkwasser. Die Messung stark getrübter

light extinction measurement
Not a very common phrase, but the Official Journal of the European Union uses it in the context of measuring opacity:
Example sentence:
2.21. ‘opacimeter’ means an instrument designed to measure the opacity of smoke particles by means of the light extinction principle;

light obscuration measurement
light obscuration

Measurements are in agreement between the two techniques when the beads are suspended in water. However, significant under-sizing is seen for the light obscuration measurement in the higher refractive index ethylene glycol mixture, while flow microscopy results are almost unaffected. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2895433/
Turbidimetry and light obscuration profiles were recorded as a function of agitation and shearing with and without the introduction of foam into the solutions
The impact of foaming was significant, resulting in an increase of turbidity and light obscuration measurements in all solutions. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3066372/

light attenuation measurement
The Standard Reference Method or SRM[1] is one of several systems modern brewers use to specify beer color. Determination of the SRM value involves measuring the attenuation of light of a particular wavelength (430 nm) in passing through 1 cm of the beer, expressing the attenuation as an absorption and scaling the absorption by a constant (12.7 for SRM; 25 for EBC).

The color of beer is an interesting topic. Beer color is measured on an SRM scale, which stands for “Standard Reference Method.” SRM is measured by passing a beam of light (at 430 nm wavelength) through 0.39 inch (1 cm) of beer and measuring attenuation of the light. The 430 nm light used corresponds roughly to a blue-violet light.

The Standard Reference Method or SRM is a system modern brewers use to measure colour intensity, roughly darkness of a beer or wort. The method involves the use of a spectrophotometer or photometer to measure the attenuation of light of a particular wavelength, 430 nanometres, as it passes through a sample contained in a cuvette located in the light path of the instrument.
The EBC convention also measures beer and wort colour, as well as quantifying turbidity (also known as haze) in beer.
