Guidebook to Prague
This is from a guidebook to Prague, describing St Joseph's Church. Neither "a valuable church" nor "a precious church" sound right to me. Does anybody have any better ideas?
"In der stillen Josefsgasse unweit der belebten Brückengasse steht **eine wertvolle Kirche**."
"In der stillen Josefsgasse unweit der belebten Brückengasse steht **eine wertvolle Kirche**."

: nice! I also like remarkable, but noteworthy is a good step down if there are other remarkable churches about.

: Noteworthy is good/Depending on the style of the rest, you could even go so far as "a gem of a church"

thanks Claire :) quite a few ways to do this one and "a gem of a" is a wee gem in itself :)

: "Noteworthy" church seems most appropriate, because the author describes the architecture in this context, it sounds better that way in my opinion. "Significant" could also be used.

: or even architecturally significant which is what is meant here, at least what can be gleaned from the following sentence.

one of the most incredible churches
Just as an alternative to David's noteworthy...
Second line would also benefit from incredible:
" The interior of the church does not only have the most incredible architecture in Prague, but also embodies the most incredible furniture and artful design" Just a suggestion:o)

: 'incredible' (like 'awesome') plays nicely to a certain crowd, but it might offend the sensibilities of other persons

Could be, although "awesome" was never considered due to its slang. "Incredible" is maybe mainstream, but carries weight.

: I don't think it's credible to have two incredibles in one sentence.
