German term

Betrieb von Seeschiffen und Seeverkehrswirtschaft

German to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping Examination certificate
This is the name of an exam that was sat at a Chamber of Commerce as part of the final training to become a shipping agent.

I'm not sure if there's a better solution than the direct translation, something like 'Operation of sea-going vessels and maritime traffic' or '...and the maritime sector'.

Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Operation of ocean-going vessels and commercial shipping

It's the high seas, so it's ocean-going vessels.

maritime shipping operations

You can say it more concisely in English, and avoid the repetition of "See".

agree Steffen Walter : ... although asker's suggestion could be combined with your answer: 'operation of sea-going vessels and maritime traffic/transport'. The former probably focuses on the technical side, the latter on the business/commercial aspects of shipping/transport.
