it isn't worth a bean/button
not worth a whoop stb.
vagy valami közelebbi a magyarhoz?
Pld. flogging a dead horse?

Comment: "Ha a kettőt össze lehetne gyúrni meglenne a tökéletes megoldás :-)

...an one-legged man in an arse-kicking contest
...an ashtray on a motor bike
...screen door on a submarine
...a hat rack in the desert
...a saddle/cowboy without a horse

: Mindezt könnyü megtalálni a neten (keresd "as useless as").

: Szövegkörnyezet nélkül ezt választanám; a "one-legged man in an arse-kicking contest" kicsit erősebb a többinél - úgy, ahogy a magyar angol szlengszótárban szereplő szinonimák közül a "mint halottnak a beöntés".

beating a dead horse
A "beating a dead horse" az a modern valtozata a flogging a dead horse.
Azt hiszem avval amit mondani akarsz mindketto megfelelo.
To repeatedly bring up a particular topic with no chance of affecting the outcome is beating a dead horse. Example: "Dad, are you sure we can't get a new computer for the upstairs?" Reply: "Son, we talked about this and the decision was 'no'. You are beating a dead horse."
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 5 hrs 8 mins (2005-07-04 19:16:57 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
The linguistic roots of this phrase draw on an allusion to literally \"whipping\" or \"beating\" a deceased horse in order to make it get up and go. Such efforts, of course, would be utterly fruitless, as dead horses no longer move under their own power.
Likewise, when one is \"beating a dead horse\", one is flailing at a dead or useless idea.

: Ez más helyzetre vonatkozik. A you are beating a dead horse is a synonym for "you are wasting your breath" A halottnak a csók a megoldásként haszontalan új javaslatra vonatkozik. Beating the dead horse is hiábavaló ismételt próbálkozás.

You lost me. ;) If useless = haszontalan, akkor a wikipedia szerint (lasd fennt) beting a dead horse is "haszontalan". :)

Szval, nincs semmifle kontextusom.
