Outlier Linguistics was formed in 2014 by Ash Henson and John Renfroe.\n\nAsh is an avid language learner, ex-NASA engineer and a PhD Candidate in the Chinese department at National Taiwan Normal University (PhD Candidate means that the only thing left is to complete one's dissertation). He began his studies in paleography and Old Chinese phonology in 2007.\n\nJohn learned Mandarin super quickly. Within two years, he was able to get into the Chinese department's Master's program (at NTNU) where he also studied paleography. John is at an intermediate level in Japanese and Ash is struggling to catch up to him.\n\nAs such, the specifically Japanese content was done by Ulrich Apel. Ulrich holds a PhD in Japanese Studies and has worked in the field of Japanese lexicography for 20 years, primarily focusing on WaDoku, a Japanese-German dictionary and the world's most comprehensive Japanese-to-Western-language dictionary.

Painel do Hack4OpenGLAM

O hackathon cultural [$1 '''Hack4OpenGLAM'''] foi realizado pela primeira vez em 2020 no [$2 Creative Commons Global Summit]. O '''[[metawiki:AvoinGLAM|AvoinGLAM]]''' (grupo de trabalho conjunto do GLAM feito por [$3 Wikimedia Finland], [$4 Open Knowledge Finland] e [$5 Creative Commons Finland]) estará organizando o evento novamente em 2021. Bio

I am a Brazilian Translator with experience in localizing English documents to Brazilian Portuguese.

My main professional background is in Design and Visual Arts, having majored in Design at the Federal University of Pernambuco (2011-2015). I have worked as a book designer for a variety of written works, literary and academic, and other Graphic Design projects for companies and individuals. That said, I'm able to handle DTP-related jobs when applicable.

As a Translator, I have studied English Translation at Universidade Estácio de Sá (2019-2021) and Video Game Translation at Cult in 2020. Professionally, I have been translating since 2019, and most documents involve websites, apps, games, product descriptions, presentations and company emails. My largest project to date is the English-to-Portuguese translation of the "Kanji Drop" app by Riot Shield Games, having contributed with over 250,000 words.

Main topics of interest (e.g. what I enjoy reading about) include Astronomy, Journalism, Music, Design, Software, Geography and Games. Personally, I'm a big fan of Science magazines like Brazilian Galileu and Superinteressante, besides Randall Munroe's "What if?" blog entries with scientific explanations to both popular and exotic questions made by readers.
