OUR AIM IS TO DEVELOP LONG-TERM BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON
TRUST. ONE ASPECT OF THIS IS OUR CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT. ITS
PURPOSE IS TO ENSURE THAT NO PROBLEMS OCCUR WHILE BUSINESS
INFORMATION IS BEING USED.

This confidentiality agreement covers the client's business and trade secrets which the
contractor becomes aware of and other information designated as confidential, regardless
of the status of the information or the media it is stored on (referred to in the following as
the “information”).
2 The contractor undertakes to treat the information as strictly confidential and not to make it
available to any third parties. The contractor must take all the necessary and reasonable measures
to comply with the confidentiality agreement.
3 In addition the information must only be made available to those of the subcontractor's employees
who need the information for the implementation of the work defined in the contract.
The contractor must also require these employees to sign a written confidentiality document
in accordance with the terms of this confidentiality agreement. At the request of the client, the
contractor must provide details of the confidentiality provisions agreed with these employees
and copies of the corresponding confidentiality documents.
4 The obligation of confidentiality does not apply if the information was already known to the
contractor, if it was already in the public domain or generally available or if it was made known
to the contractor or the general public at a later date without this being the fault of the contractor.
The burden of proof lies with the contractor.
In the case of a breach of this obligation of confidentiality,
the contractor must compensate the client for any resulting damage.
6 The confidentiality agreement comes into force when it is signed by both parties. It expires
when the order on which the confidentiality agreement is based is completed. Otherwise it
applies to all the contracts concluded by the parties.
The obligation of confidentiality continues for a further three years after this confidentiality
agreement expires.
7 The contractor must return to the client the information it has received immediately and at
the client's first request. The contractor can only make copies or other duplicates with the written
consent of the client. No right to withhold information
can be asserted. The transfer of the information to the contractor does not in any
way involve the granting of rights. The information is to be used only for the purpose of
carrying out the contractor's work as defined in the contract.
8 There are no supplementary agreements to this confidentiality agreement. Amendments and
additions to this agreement must be made in writing and are only valid if they have a legally
binding signature from each party. Any agreement to dispense with this requirement for the
written form must also be made in writing.
If individual provisions or parts of provisions in this agreement are invalid, the remainder of the
agreement remains effective. The invalid provision must be replaced either with the relevant
legal regulation or (if no legal regulation of this kind exists) with a provision which the parties
in good faith could reasonably have put in place, if they had been aware of the invalidity of
the previous provision.

I enjoy reading a variety of other subjects, including medicine, history, and literature and can translate academic and technical texts. I have independent translations in the legal field, and worked for more than six years as a bilingual secretary.
