The Word Gym was set up in January 1990 and serves corporate marketing departments and advertising and marketing agencies. We deal primarily with promotional copy (usually out of English into European and Scandinavian languages, with some East Asian and North African requirements), and also provide copywriting services. The Word Gym prides itself as being a very different kind of language agency, because of the collaborative way we work with our freelance colleagues. Because the work we do is extremely demanding (international advertising, press campaigns, direct and e-marketing, POS, posters, TV scripts, brochures, annual reports, etc), we work only with those professionals who are able to demonstrate not just high levels of ability in the creative and linguistic sense, but also the ability to work as part of a team, albeit at remote.

The Word Gym has worked on successful international advertising and marketing campaigns for major corporate clients including (among others) AMD, DaimlerChrysler, Ericsson, Hewlett-Packard, Inmarsat, Nortel Networks, palmOne, Sony Electronics, The Financial Times and Unique Vacations. Our prices are quoted on a job-by-job basis, depending on requirements (assessed against a number of criteria, including target market, intended objectives, target audience/tone of voice etc.).
