Spanish term

otorga el título de master....

Spanish to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Hola,
Lo que se llama en España "máster", que normalmente se hace después de la licenciatura (el que lo hace), recibe el mismo nombre en UK y en USA? Sería un "master's degree" o simplemente "master in/of".

Gracias

But here "master" does not refer to 5 year studies, it's independent of what we call here "carrera universitaria".

Laura:
No creo qye se utilice "title" en estos caso, honestamente hablando.
EMHO, sería: "XXX confers a Master's Degree in XXX upon XXX".
Así lo he visto en muchas partes.
Suerte:-)

neutral Technoscience : I've seen "master's degree" in resumes, biographical summaries and university mail, but on the diploma itself, "Master of xxxxx in xxxxx" is the most frequent, more formal usage. Unless it's in Latin! So it depends on what the translation is for

Right, 'TS', but there are so many methods, forms, styles, customs, ..etc, etc..I just tried to use the most commonly known one! Saludos:-)

hereby confers upon [Fulano de Tal] the degree of Master of Science/Arts in...

There are really several ways to say this, but this wording is similar to my college diploma (albeit only a BA). You should be able to determine whether it is an MA or an MS. If you choose to abbreviate, be aware that US uses MS whereas the UK uses MSc.

Good luck.

agree Technoscience : The more traditional universities use this formula on the printed diploma: the degree of Master of -- Science -- or --- Arts etc --- in xxxx upon "fulano de tal/so and so"
