Estoy trabajando en la traducción EN>ES de un libro. Dejo el extracto del texto:
—¡Sí, dicen que será una paz encubierta y que pueden bombardear, y como trabajamos para el estado, ya sabes lo burocrático que es y el Ministerio de Seguridad absorbe todos los impuestos!
No encuentro en mis diccionarios de referencia el término 'paz encubierta', quizás hay una frase hecha para referirse a ello.

Yes, they say it will be a covert peace and they can bomb, and since we work for the state, you know how bureaucratic it is, and the Ministry of Security absorbs all the taxes.

make-believe peace
When those in power know there's going to be no peace at all but deny it shamelessly. They could say whatever they wanted and fantasize thinking of peace, but that wouldn't change the truth that the bombings were still possible.
