English term

P/M

English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Birth Certificate
On an Australian birth certificate in the section called:
Names of witesses present at birth,

Medical practioner: Dr [surname]
Nurse: Sr [surname]
Other witnesses: **P/M** [surname 1], **P/M** [surname 2], Mr [name of father]

I'm wondering whether P/M could be a grade of nurse or hospital admin staff.

It basically could be anything... any ideas please?

could it have something to do with paternal/maternal? i.e. who the witness knows?

neutral Alexander Demyanov : What would a paramedic do in a delivery room?//I'm not 100% sure about Australia, but in the US paramedics drive/ride in ambulances and mostly provide first aid and deliver paitents to hospitals.

Well it's possible that they knew there was something wrong with the baby, so they wanted some emergency services around?
