I am a 41 year old licensed translator struggling to find work in that field here in Portugal.t's hard to be wheeled and assumed as translator here right as you complete your degree unless you know the right people or have a name in the industry, very unfortunately its how it goes. I speak French FR and Portuguese POR natively as I studied since primary school in both languages learning few years later to speak English.I can translate to and from these 3 languages. I use no Google opposite to what many people do and consider themselves translators, yet they are hired and have no degree whatsoever. It's sad to bébé a degree in an industry and people who don't and use Google do find a job and still are able to be proud.Anyway, the only experience I have acquired is from university or simple one time tasks here and there. I do know I am qualified and am proud to work the way I do. By research.I just found this website, ProZ, and am new to it so bate with me for the profile I have as I work a full time job and haven't had yet the time to start and take care of it decently since my only day off is just to clean and keep up the house.I just wish you gone me the opportunity to do one or few tasks and if you like my work then, pay me for it until you see I do speak the language and know what I'm doing despite being native Portuguese.Hope to hear from you soon and be able to work for you.Thank you! |
