Two influences have shaped my translation career.
First, my stay in the US for my Masters in Journalism, which I graduated from with a GPA of 4.00.
Second, my anthology of Indian stories, which I co-authored with Mr Khushwant Singh, India's leading writer/columnist. While the first experience awakened me to the power of the English language, the second, honed my skills by introducing me to the language's sheer vitality.
Happy to share that the book is a best seller!
I have a deep sense of the written word. Perhaps my life experiences have shaped these.
My primary education was in Moscow. later on, I moved to India where I completed my formal education. I then won a $10,000 award which took me to the US to study \for a Masters in Journalism. I love the texture and feel of words.
My parents have been translators from Russian to English and Hindi. Perhaps some of that talent has passed into me. |
