I'm fascinated by languages ... maybe because I grew up speaking several while I was growing up (Cantonese at home, English in school, and Spanish with my neighborhood friends).
When I turned 30 I had the opportunity to work in Japan for seven years. There, I learned to write, read and speak Japanese and to translate documents from English to Spanish.
Later on, when I moved to the USA, I started to interpret our church services from English to Spanish and eventually ended up as a translator and interpreter for the Public Defender office in North Carolina. I'm currently working as a Certified Court Interpreter in Maryland.
