Croatian to English: The period of settlement and adoption of Christianity of the Croats
Source text - Croatian Vrijeme doseljenja i pokrštenja Hrvata (za ovdje najavljenu temu sporedno je da li se sve to zbilo u 7., 8., ili pak u 9. stoljeću) sigurno su najčešće i najžustrije raspravljana pitanja u našoj historiografiji pri čemu historičari koplja lome oslanjajući se tek na dva drugorazredna te stoga nepotpuna i nedorečena povijesna izvora koji uz to često donose i činjenično oprečne podatke, napose u slučajevima kada se očituju o kronološkim pitanjima. U cjelini se stječe utisak da je njihovim piscima upravo bio cilj neke bitne stvari iz hrvatske prošlosti ostaviti dvojbenima ne bi li svaki od tih pisaca postigao svoj partikularni cilj potaknut različitim razlozima i interesima. Riječ je dakako, o dobro poznatim spisima Historia Salonitana i De administrando imperio (dalje: DAI). Tvorac prvoga splitski je kroničar Toma Arhiđakon, oko 1266. godine, a drugi je nastao polovinom 10. stoljeća i najčešće se vezuje uz ime bizantskog cara Konstantina VII. Porfirogeneta. Oba dakle, bilježe podatke o događajima koji su se zbili nekoliko stoljeća ranije nego li su zapisani u spomenutim djelima, a da nam pri tome nije pouzdano poznato da li su njihovim piscima bili dostupni kakvi drugi dokumenti ili su pak, svoje pisanje utemeljili samo, na tada još uvijek prisutnim usmenim predajama i legendama.
Translation - English The period of settlement and adoption of Christianity of the Croats (for the topic at hand, it is irrelevant whether this occurred in the seventh, eighth or ninth century) are surely the most common and heated topics of discussion in our historiography. It is one which has caused many historians to debate, solely relying on two second grade, incomplete and vague historical sources which often have factually opposing information, save for instances of chronological data. On the whole, an impression is made that the goals of their writers was precisely to leave certain important events of Croatian history doubtful, allowing each writer to attain their respective goals determined by varying reasons and interests. We are, of course, talking about the well-known Historia Salonitana and De administrando imperio (DAI) documents. The first document was created around 1266 by the chronicler Toma Arhiđakon from Split, while the second was created in the 10th century and is most commonly connected to the Byzantine czar Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus. Both, therefore, hold records of events which occurred several centuries before they were recorded in the aforementioned documents. It is uncertain, however, whether these writers had access to any other documents, or their writing was based solely on verbal communication and legends, as was still customary at the time.
English to Croatian: Projekt kanalizacijskog sustava
Source text - English Although the sewerage network is already designed and for most TEUs implementation has started, after completing approx. 35 % of the works, the works stopped due to financial problems. Hence, one of the main issues to deal with in the near future is the completion of the waste water system in order to cover the complete catchment area of the future WWTP(s). This includes in particular the continuous connection of households to the sewerage network. On the one hand, this is a precondition of draining the required waste water flow to the future WWTP. On the other hand, the revenues from sewage charge are precondition for a positive balance sheet of the water utility.
Translation - Croatian Iako je projekt kanalizacijskog sustava već napravljen i implementacija je započeta za većinu TEC-a, izvedba je obustavljena nakon izvršenja cca 35% radova zbog financijskih problema. Stoga, jedan od najvećih problema s kojima se treba suočiti u skoroj budućnosti je završavanje radova na sustavu odvodnje otpadnih voda kako bi se pokrilo cijelo slivno područje budućih UPOV-a. To posebice uključuje neprekidno spajanje kućanstava na kanalizacijsku mrežu. S jedne strane je ovo preduvjet za odvodnju potrebnog protoka otpadnih voda u buduće UPOV-e, no, s druge strane su prihodi od naplate kanalizacije preduvjet za pozitivnu vodno-komunalnu bilancu.
