I really understand your frustration. Unfortunately, many small translation agencies work like that. They just deliver texts without proofreading. They might assign different files of the same project to different translators in order to meet tight deadlines, without bothering to check for terminology consistency. I really understand your frustration. Unfortunately, many small translation agencies work like that. They just deliver texts without proofreading. They might assign different files of the same project to different translators in order to meet tight deadlines, without bothering to check for terminology consistency. Some of them expect the translated text to be edited by the translator, for the same rate.
Large companies might have a better quality control system. Translation should be just one stage in the project, followed by editing, proofreading, formatting, and a final review before delivery, all done by different people. The problem is that if companies offer translation services at ridiculously low rates, they will certainly not pay more than one or two persons at a time... Just explain your choices and demand clarifications. They cannot just say "it does not sound like English"! Good luck ▲ Collapse
