See more Maybe because of age Maybe because many interests are raising in this period (seems a contraddiction but it isn't) but translation is a job to me. The attitude has changed in time. When I was 25 it was more a mission than a job. Today I am experiencing more possibilities of mixing translation with other expressive means. And I can "see" other than that. Pros and cons of digitalization and networking, perhaps. Proz has contributed to change my attitudes, for example. ▲ Collapse | | | Julian Holmes Giappone Local time: 16:17 Membro (2011) Da Giapponese a Inglese A profession | Dec 19, 2012 |

A job, but one that I enjoy very much! | | | David Hayes Francia Local time: 09:17 Da Francese a Inglese All, except a job | Dec 19, 2012 |
I echo Julian's comments regarding translation as a mere job, but there are times when I agree with all the other options. Depends on what and for whom I'm translating and under what terms and conditions. I have certainly experienced boredom and nightmare, as well as art and a sense of mission. | | | to me translating is | Dec 19, 2012 |
to me translating is a pleasure when I convey the meaning of what is written in a foreign language to my native one so that natives can read and benefit from it is something like helping giving birth a new NATIVE TEXT | |
