I am using the old Proz.com site. I think it is easier to use and find jobs that, to be sincere, is rare these days | | | Other (maybe) | Dec 31, 2024 |
I’ve checked the «new version» several times and I don’t like it; I find it very confusing and not user-friendly at all. I would have preferred to have an updated old version, free of all the bugs, than this one. As Proz is asking us (the users) to test the new site I suppose it will not be based on this version, as the so-called «new version» has been around for some time… | | | Philip Lees Grčija Local time: 05:21 grščina - angleščina
... but I have yet to see anybody say anything positive about the new design, whereas a number of contributors, myself included, have said they don't like it.
However, I suppose there must be some people out there who do like it, and no doubt they will be the ones who are invited to test it, and they will find it good.

What exactly do you mean by "member"? | Jan 1 |
From this no-longer-paying member's perspective, most changes to the site in the last 20 years have been purely cosmetic and have not helped or contributed towards raising the level of professionalism. Other things seem to be more important.

Whatever you do with this new website, please don't alienate Firefox users. I've lost count on how many websites shun us, simply because we made a conscious decision to not use Chrome or one of its clones.

That's all I ask. | | |

When this happened? I've tried Ooona in Firefox and it worked, well it was months ago... | | | Novian Cahyadi Indonezija Local time: 10:21 Član (2024) angleščina - indonezijščina

For as long as I could remember. I've tried to spoof my user agent. This is sometimes enough to trick websites into thinking I'm using Chrome. Alas, not in this case.

Zea_Mays Italija Local time: 04:21 Član (2009) angleščina - nemščina + ... just found the prototype site by accident | Jan 3 |
I was looking for a specific training, so I clicked on "Training" in the Training menu, and landed on the new site (its prototype).
And no, it's not the old "new" site. It's better, still with room for improvement, but it's a good start.
In the past I have given feedback on the very first new-new version, but never heard back from the team. | | | Novian Cahyadi Indonezija Local time: 10:21 Član (2024) angleščina - indonezijščina

I saw it. This is undoubtedly going to be polarizing. Imma get some popcorn, y'all. 💀 | | | Zea_Mays Italija Local time: 04:21 Član (2009) angleščina - nemščina + ... with a little help from friends | Jan 3 |

Nah... What about giving feedback through the form linked on some of the pages? | | | Novian Cahyadi Indonezija Local time: 10:21 Član (2024) angleščina - indonezijščina

I don't see any forms.
EDIT:
I saw the form. But I don't have any particular opinions regarding the new website, so I didn't fill it out.

Zea_Mays Italija Local time: 04:21 Član (2009) angleščina - nemščina + ... @ProZ: Training section not working | Jan 3 |
It is impossible to access the pages (with new design) with training content - site says "Loading" but nothing happens.
How can I access the pages in the old design? | | | Is this what you're looking for? | Jan 3 |

How can I access the pages in the old design?
In the top menu of the classic site, the "Education - Training" option seems to be incorrectly configured to point to the "Proz Learn" page in the alpha version of the 'really new' website, instead of the 'older new' "Training" page.
I can view that "Education - Training" page (and open the links in it) because, although I am not a 'member', I was granted access to the 'really new' site after I had been invited to participate in the Women in Translation programme which, apart from its true raison d'être, is also serving as a test-bed for the new up-coming 'Communities' offering. As access to the 'really new' alpha site is by invitation only (hence the topic of this thread, I imagine...), I'm not surprised that for you the pages get stuck while 'Loading...'.
That said, the 'classic' sitemap available here: https://www.proz.com/sitemap still includes this properly functional link to the 'older new' 'Training' page: https://training.proz.com/
And if that doesn't work for you, well maybe you need to get yourself invited to test the 'really new' site

Hopefully my comments in this post will encourage staff to clarify the meaning of 'new' in this context.

From what I've seen of the 'really new' site, the functionality relating to job-finding (and many other components, such as Kudoz) is not yet operational, so I suspect you are referring to the 'older new' site that was launched some time (years?) ago.

I suspect that Maria Teresa and Philip, like Martha, are referring to the 'older new' site, not the 'really new' site which is only recently being made accessible for testing.

Having read the reasons for the major overhaul of the platform, as explained briefly in the 'really new' site, it's very clear (to me at least, given my own experience of developing and maintaining a complex multi-functional multilingual website) that a complete rebuild is seen as the only viable response to the demonstrable fact that the 'classic' Proz.com site is falling apart at the seams, and provide a solid and secure framework for the next 25 years.
